I am a local Bellingham photographer handling many types of photography. While I love to shoot everything from weddings to events, I really thrive photographing sporting events. I don't know about you, but for me there is not much that can beat the smell of fresh cut grass on a cool crisp fall Friday evening standing on the 50 with a camera!

I have been making photos since I was 17 years old, getting started at North Kitsap High School with a photography class. After graduation, I continued my new found love and turned my creative expression in to a college education. I graduated from Western Washington University with a BA in Visual Communications: Graphic Arts and Photography in the spring of 1993. My final college project was an internship with the Bellingham Herald as a photographer.

I am pleased to continue developing photography and a photographers community with www.WPANetwork.com through out Northwestern Washington. If you have any photography or photo order questions, or to find out how to contribute your photographic passion to the WPANetwork please email me at David.Willoughby@WPANetwork.com

Thanks again for your time!

David :)

I was born and raised in the Auburn area and I am an Auburn High School graduate. My three children attend the Enumclaw School District and are very involved in the athletic programs. I currently have a high school athlete, a middle school athlete and a grade school athlete. I attend nearly all of their games and I like to capture the special moments and the exciting plays. Over the years, I have continued to upgrade my camera gear in order to get great action shots in both indoor and outdoor events. I am now to the point where most of my photographs are good quality and people often request copies of the photos I have taken of their kids. Since I am already attending many sporting events and taking photos at those events, and will have kids in the South Puget Sound League at Enumclaw High School for the next 9 years I decided to look into being a photographer. I have always tried to get the unique one-of-a-kind photos, whether using a GoPro video camera mounted on my helmet while motorcycle riding/snowmobiling or mounted to a rod while fishing trying to capture the salmon or halibut as it is netted at the boat, or using a telephoto lens at the baseball, basketball or volleyball tournament capturing a series of shots that will produce a lasting memory of that special moment. I am always creatively investigating new and unique camera photo shots for the next picture.

Thank you

I was born and raised in South Seattle and currently reside in the Kent area. I have developed a passion for photographing sports and dance photography starting with my kid’s activities, which has continued as they develop through the ranks. This has included soccer, dance, baseball, basketball, track, and cross country. With the foundation in my kid’s sports, I have taken additional opportunities to capture sports at the high school level. I am continually looking for new ways to view the sports that I am shooting and am always willing to try new things.

My photos from NPSL games and other sports and dance events can be found on my web site. I run a small photography business (Zimbug Photography) and I may be contacted if you are interested in having your game or activity photographed.

I grew up in Puyallup and started my love affair with photography in high school taking two years of digital photography classes. I was hooked and knew that I wanted to make my career path in what every parent loves to hear most, the arts, specifically photography.

I also have always been into sports (growing up with two older brothers and no sisters does that to a girl) in my freshman year of school I joined the football team at Rogers high school as a manager. I was thrown into the action of the Friday night lights and I loved every minute of it. Soon I started to bring my camera along with me just to document how much fun I was having and to not miss a moment of the season. It turned from some "silly pictures" into a new found love for sports photography.

After high school I moved to Bellingham to attend Western Washington University and decided that I was going to jump into photojournalism. Since graduation I have moved back to my old stomping grounds where I work in a local portrait studio. In my off time I found myself creeping back into the world of sports photography, sneaking to a practice here and there, sweet talking my way to the sidelines.

Luckily enough I have been accepted into the WPA Network of photographers and I’m grateful for the opportunity to grow and develop the skills to do the thing I love the most, documenting sports and athletes across the state!
I’m on all forms of social media, most notably Instagram and Twitter. Please message me for any reason! Thanks!

I started photography in grade school with a Kodak 110 Instamatic – I still remember the flashcube extender used to reduce red-eye in photographs. I used a succession of 35mm and medium-format film cameras through high school and college. I grew up in the Washington DC area, and I’ve lived a number of places in the US before settling in the Puget Sound in 2001. I have lived in or traveled to all 50 US states along with all 7 continents. As a 21-year Air Force veteran (active and reserve) and a pilot for The Boeing Company, I’ve been afforded amazing opportunities to capture images from around the world. I had two photos selected for the Museum of Flight’s 2016 Spirit of Flight exhibition.

Several years ago I started concentrating on my kids’ high school athletics, and my recent subjects have been the Rogers High School cross country, swimming, and tennis teams and the Mel Korum YMCA swim team. I live in Puyallup, and the proximity to Thun Field provides a wealth of photo opportunities including Mt Rainier and the airport traffic.

My photographic interests are wide-ranging. Most days I have the camera bag in my car or over my shoulder. One transformational experience in my photographic journey was perfectly capturing a lighting strike using the bulb function of my first 35mm film SLR. My love of photography boils down to watching a number of factors coalesce into the perfect shot – effectively capturing the light, the passion, the intensity, the beauty, and the fleeting timelessness of an image.

I shoot with professional-quality Nikon equipment, and I enjoy the experience of watching a family group, a bunch of parents, or a collection of friends stowing their iPhones when I arrive with my camera bag. 

I’m thrilled by the chance to work with WPA and the SPSL high schools as a photographer – many thanks for the opportunity.

I am a freelance photographer based in Olympia, WA. I enjoy shooting senior and family portraits, events such as small weddings, reunions and anniversaries and high school sports. I love to provide memorable images that will be treasured by my subjects for years to come.

I have been shooting photos since my Purdue days. Having a press pass allowed free access to football and basketball games, astronauts and entertainers. I have taught physics and photography in both New York and Tokyo, Japan before retiring from Olympia High School’s science department in 2013. My photographs are used by various commercial and educational websites in the Sound area. I also provide teams with group, individual and game photos.

I am pleased to be involved with the high school sports photography community via www.WPANetwork.com. I will be providing albums from the Olympia area high school sports, concentrating on Olympia High School and other games in this area. I grew up in Phoenix, Arizona but was transplanted to Washington 20 years ago. I spent my young adulthood playing and photographing sports, weddings, and campus life. Although I have some 40 years of experience shooting photographs, my love of kids competing in sports was reignited watching my daughter grow as an athlete. Capturing "the moment" is my passion, and no other place is more challenging than on the sidelines. When I can capture the emotion and intensity of sport in a single image, there is no greater challenge. My goal is and always will be to present the very best of a person, product, or event. My hope is that as you peruse my galleries that you discover I have displayed my passion, and I represented your team or player to that standard.

I am new to the SPSL so if you see me on the sidelines, say "hi" and let me know how I am doing, and what I can do better. I work every outing, event, and photograph to try and get better images and outstanding memories.

I currently shoot a wide range of photography including weddings, architectural, portraits, and product photography. To get a link to my online portfolio or comments about the pictures you see on my gallery email me at wksiii@msn.com.

See you on the sidelines of a SPSL event!

"You Watch the Game. I'll Capture the Memories"

Situated in Puyallup, I am a freelance photographer with a penchant for photographing sports.

I got my first camera for my tenth birthday (yeah, I know, kinda nerdy) and I have been shooting to varying degrees ever since. I was a three-sport athlete through high school and can't begin to tell you how many times a coach caught me with a camera along for the ride on road trips (if you live in Billings, MT, you do road trips). The camera was always there to provide a record of experiences. After all, how many times will a person be playing high school football, running a downhill course on salted and packed snow or competing for a medal in the state track meet?

Fortunate enough now to be retired from my day job, a hobby has become a 'cottage' business allowing me to freelance for McClatchy Newspapers, South Hill Mall, Images and Events, Rockets Magazine, etc. as well as shoot the incidental senior photos, military events, weddings, reunions and other events. But, being a 'sports shooter' remains my passion.

I work diligently to produce a 'photograph' versus a 'picture' - the idea being that each image tells a story and provides a memory for students, parents and family members alike.I shoot with professional Nikon cameras and lenses and constantly work to improve my craft as opposed to accepting the status quo of the moment. Please feel free to visit my website for expanded product offerings and additional examples of my photography.

If you have a question regarding a photography or videography event, please contact me.

I am a Kent based photographer covering sports in the SPSL. I have been active with youth sports not just photographically but also as a gymnastics

I do own and operate a small photography company shooting Senior portraits and family life events.

You can contact me to make arrangements to serve your photographic needs.

I will say "Its not work if you truly enjoy what your doing". At the age of 7 years old I got my very first camera from my father. The camera was a Charlie the Tuna camera from the Starkist Tuna Company. It took 126 size film, and at the time, the only film my parents would buy me was black and white. I even remember my first outdoor "photo shoot". It was along the Lake Quinalt trail with the beauty of the giant spruce trees and the lush forest floor with the wonderfully smelly skunk cabbage. At the ripe age of 7, I was bit by the photo bug!

I have been playing with cameras ever since. And like many of the photographers on this site and elsewhere, once my kids started playing sports, and in an effort to keep my mouth shut, I began to take pictures of the action. I love watching and capturing the moments that happen in athletics. The intensity, the sadness and the absolute joy of sport is fun to try to bring to an image that can be shared for generations. So, that is what I try to do. I try to capture images that can be enjoyed by many, for generations to come.

I have lived in the Pacific Northwest nearly my entire life. I now live in Federal Way, which gives me a unique opportunity to take high school sports pictures. The four Federal Way high schools are all within 10 miles of each other making travel logistics very easy. So, I will be able to shoot pictures at all four of the high schools. So, please take a look at what I have done.

Thank you and take care.

I am a Kent based photographer covering the SPSL league in sports and competition dance. I have over 35yrs of photography experience and have been shooting high school sports and dance for the last 7 years. Having been involved in sports as a player, coach and parent provides me the perspective to translate those life experiences through my sports photography. My goal is to bring the viewer closer to the action and to feel the excitement, passion and raw emotion of the game and to bring out the individuality of each person through my portraits.

Feel free to browse my galleries or purchase your favorite photo which supports my volunteer efforts and allows me to continue to bring quality images to the parents and students of the SPSL league.

I am also available for on-location family and senior portrait sessions. Contact me to schedule a personalized photo shoot of your student in action or to schedule an on-location Senior Portrait session.

I'm pleased to be associated with and a contributing photographer for the WPA Network, SPSL.org and SPSLAthlectics.com. I look forward to serving your photography needs and hopefully create lasting memories of your student's high school sports experience through my photography.

I have been a freelance photographer for over 40 years. My father bought a daily newspaper in Iowa when I was 13 and it sparked an interest in printing and photography that has stayed with me. I studied printing and photography in college and paid my way through school working on the school newspaper and freelancing for local papers. I moved to the NW in 1979 and started a specialty printing company and have worked a wide variety of photo freelance work over the years. I have both studio and natural light experience, and I presently work primarily in sports and photojournalism, portraits, fashion and product photography. For the last 15 years I have been a regular contributor to various local newspapers in and around Washington State and have been published in national publications.

While I have experience with varying types of photography, shooting high school sports over the last 15 years has become one of my favorites. I love seeing the athletes give it their all and enjoy capturing the energy.
